What makes Claughton Chapel UMC unique?
Claughton Chapel is a 19th century church in a rural hilltop setting with a warm and friendly congregation, celebrating, with the help of 21st century technology, God’s gifts and Jesus’ word through ministry, prayer and song.
Services are one hour in length and begin with a time of friendly greetings. This is followed by songs of inspiration and a time of praise and prayer. The congregation is encouraged to share tributes of thanks and concerns of the needy. The message of the Bible is presented by the pastor in a freestanding manner, with a backdrop of appropriate visuals. The atmosphere is friendly and caring, and it is not unusual for the congregation to laugh and have fun while enjoying good music.
Apparel is generally informal and casual.
